I woke up well-rested (I slept for 8 hours!!) and enlivened. And before my feet hit the ground, I knew I wanted to start the day by taking Niko on a hike at Runyon Canyon.
The morning was nostalgic. It reminded me of a morning in Europe. Actually, it made me feel like I was waking up in a European city…not quite London or Paris, more like Brussels or Frankfurt - cloudy & warm with a slight drizzle.
Great news! I have this amazing sipping chocolate that a good friend gave me for my birthday some time ago and it makes the most decadent, most indulgent sipping chocolate ever. Just as rich as the one that Starbucks offered for a second a couple years back. Anyhow, I wanted to add it to my coffee but thought it had milk (in my head, chocolate = milk). Turns out that the only questionable ingredient is cocoa butter and I just found out that cocoa butter is all plant-based!!
A quick stop to the grocery store for some tomatoes, cucumbers, kale, collard greens, corn (5), apples (5), lemons (2), vegan peanut butter cookies, vegan macaroons, Indian food from the hot prepared foods section and Rice Dream frozen treats (7) cost me $73!! I always shop here and pick up the usual things but now that I'm paying attention, this is quite a bit!! I don't even have enough to make a single meal - except the to-go food, of course. One thing's for certain - I'm not a big tofu fan; at least, not how it's prepared in Whole Foods' Madras Tofu. Too firm.
