Bleh! I'm waking up feeling unsettled in the belly. It's beyond my normal waking-up-feeling-full. It's waking up feeling bloated and gross and unsettled.
Looking back at the night before, I didn't have any real food. What I ate was nutrient-poor. And the last few hours of the night consisted of a vodka infusion, a gin/elderflower cocktail, fat smooshy fries, a Rice Dream Vanilla pie and macaroons. Where's dinner? Well, THAT was dinner. Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, omnivore, or carnivore - that's not a good meal for anyone.
So, no surprise that I'm two pounds heavier. Still, the weight goes up and down and up and down in the short term so I'm not worried about it. It'll do what it does.
Like yesterday, I didn't feed myself anything worthwhile today. I had an apple and a handful of cherub tomatoes because they were sitting on the kitchen counter and since they were right there, I snacked on them but I wasn't hungry. I had a meeting at 2pm so I picked up a 16oz soy caramel latte and some Sahale pomegranate and vanilla cashews at Starbucks before heading in. During the meeting, I munched on some pita and hummus. I got home at 630pm and ate the last of Gianna's vegan peanut butter cookies (I am not buying this again - it wasn't very tasty or interesting).
At this very moment, I AM BORED WITH FOOD. And that's a very, very sad thing because I enjoy food so much and get so much pleasure out of it. Because I don't know what I can have, I'm bored. Prior to the pledge, I'd say sushi or thai food or japanese and hit up my favorite no-nonsense spots - Sakura, GyuKaku, Primitivo, Javan. Now, the only places coming to mind are Whole Foods' prepared food section or Real Food Daily, either of which I really, really don't want right now. I'm so over both those spots, just thinking about going to either makes me want to shoot myself.
Eventually, I opted for thai food and over-ordered...veggie pad thai, a veggie curry, spinach & tofu, brown rice and mango & sticky rice. Thai food - or maybe even just food, in general - suddenly became so fresh and new to me after 9 days of food predominantly from Whole Foods' prepared foods section.
